Should I wake up the patient to change the product?

When it comes to changing a product, patients have different needs. Always follow your facility protocol and address your residents' individual needs. Some patients are able to sleep through product changes while others are not, so don't be afraid to discuss their changing preferences. If you do choose to wake them up, it isn't necessary to turn on all the lights. Use just enough light to see what you're doing and handle them gently so they can easily fall back asleep. If a resident has intact skin, consider using an Extended Use Brief. Still having trouble managing nighttime leaks? Prevail® might be the answer. Customers who switched to Prevail® protective hygiene products reported fewer night time leaks than with their previous products. In fact, after switching, there was a 44% reduction in nighttime leaks*.
